Introduction

Friendly Automate collects personally identifiable information (PII) from website visitors and contacts. This includes IP addresses, names and email addresses. Friendly Automate also uses cookies to identify returning users.

Therefore the use of Friendly Automate is subject to the GDPR, if the website also addresses customers in the EU. The revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) is also expected to come into force during 2021, which has similar requirements as the GDPR. The PECR legislation in California is also oriented to the GDPR.

If you are active in Europe and want to be compliant with the GDPR, you can, in addition to the following measures, also sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with us. Simply get in touch with us.

How to use Friendly Automate complying with the GDPR and similar laws

We are helping you to achieve GDPR readiness when using Friendly Automate to grow your business.

To be compliant with the GDPR and similar laws, you should in our understanding take the following four requirements into account:

  1. Every person has to give consent to the collection of personal data
  2. Every person has the right to know what data about them is stored
  3. Every person has the right to download the data stored about them
  4. Every person has the right to be forgotten

Friendly Automate supports you in all these four requirements. Only for the first one you might need additional software. In the following we will go into the four requirements in detail.

1. Every person has to give consent to the collection of personal data

BEFORE you track personal identifiable information (PII), visitors must agree to it. This also includes the setting of cookies for marketing purposes - i.e. cookies that are not absolutely necessary for the operation of your offer.

IF you use Friendly Automate's website tracking, you track personal identifiable information (IP addresses) and set cookies.

You should therefore use a Consent Management Platform (CMP), where the visitor has to agree to the use of his data for marketing purposes and the setting of cookies. Only then the tracking code of Friendly Automate may be loaded.

Friendly Automate uses the following functional and marketing cookies:
